Ritchie Coote and I have decided that a school-wide search for Seamus Finnigan is in order. All prefects are requested to help. Start in your immediate areas. As Finnigan was in Gryffindor, and they only have three prefects left, Benton and I will be assisting Ritchie.

There's no cause for alarm nothing to suggest that he disappeared as a result of tonight's explosion, but I do think the coincidence of the two events is enough reason to conduct a proper search.

As curfew is coming up, I will ask a professor if we keep on searching for him after, but in the event that they say no, I'm sure those prefects who are on duty will continue the job for us.

Do you think I go after Andrew Kirke too much?

I know he was intoxicated when he said it but he seems to think I have a personal vendetta against him. I thought I cleared it up but I still feel hesitant now to say anything critical of him, even when he's being perfectly horrible to people.

And I especially feel that I can't say anything because I know why he's being horrid to some of them and I understand and I've even expressed empathy for him. If I say anything now he'll definitely think I'm focussing on him.

But it feels unfair to the people he's scrapping with to say nothing.

What would you do?

I'm sure you've both noticed that Andrew Kirke's behaviour has become slightly more unpredictable as of late. Without discussing the reasons for this shift, which I'm sure are known only to Andrew himself, I would ask the two of you to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't cause even more conflict. As the prefects closest to him I think he would be more willing to listen to you than to anyone else.

I don't mean this as a slight against Andrew, as this pattern of hostility was never a problem in previous years. But we really can't have him insulting anyone he likes without fear of reproof. It isn't fair to other students.

I don't know precisely what's going on, but I think we all know there's been a big row or something in Slytherin. Ideally this wouldn't have happened the day before we all pile onto the Hogwarts Express and spend hours in close quarters with each other, but there's no time to fix things, so could everyone please keep extra alert during the train ride to catch any troublemakers? I hope everyone's had their fill of fighting but you never know.

We might want to pay particular attention to Ligeia Fletwock, as she appears to be at the centre of this and people seem particularly keen on hexing her, and her them. Also, try to keep Regina Rufford away from everyone.
